Design brief: Pastel colours, handwritten font, selling wax melts
What was required: Logo, branding, photography, eCommerce website, label designs, social media platforms set up, IT support, Illustrator training.
Lucy from Melties came to me with the most gorgeous smelling wax melts and we instantly hit it off. Not only did I love the product but I liked Lucy straight away. A working mum with a lot of ambition and caring about what she was offering people. She had a designer create some logos but she wasn’t sure they were right. She had an image in her mind of pastel colours and a handwritten font. Very quickly an idea came to mind for her logo and I set about designing it. The result, she loved it.
Next came her website. E-commerce was necessary to sell her wax melts. I designed a site on WordPress using WooCommerce to power the shop. Again she loved it but then we had a problem, she needed better images to show off her products. I set about my little home studio setup, Lucy provided lots of props and products and two days later came some lovely product images, unique to Melties.
Lucy loved her logo, images and her website, who wouldn’t, right? melties.co.uk
Next came labels for the many products! 79 in total. Lucy needed front and rear labels for her wax melts in the same branding. After many versions we settled on the below labels, now don’t they look great! If I do say so myself? Of course, the rear labels were a lot of work because each one was unique with ingredients and safety icons. Going forward I have provided Lucy with the Illustrator templates and videos of how to amend each label herself, to keep designer costs down. Of course, I’m always here to help whenever and hopefully she already knows that! Best of luck Lucy!
